Try it sometime. Fuckin feels great.

All in the balance of things, I suppose.

Don't need to 'bash' to feel great. I wake up feeling great.

Congratulations. I have ups and downs like any normal human.

UFC is neat. Those guys must be insane to want to beat each other like that.

Oh ya stay on topic. I bought some stuff today too.

Yep, 2 days into a Harley project, I can see why people love em or hate em. I can see why, I just haven't decided how I feel yet. All I know is I get a grin walking out to the garage with a Suzuki, Honda and Harley all side by side =)

My wife however is un biased, she is indifferent to all of them equally. She does "like the color" on the Harley though.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if harley offered a "scrambler" version of the sportster sometime in the future.

Why not right? Ducati and Triumph have them. I'd like to see HD build it. Different styles are good. I hope Harley Davidson figures out the newer market just as well. I'd love seeing them go even more outside their lines.

I want it all. I want my UJM inline 4 sport bike but I love my chopper just as much. Best of both worlds. A bazillion pirates can't be wrong ;)

I'll second that. There's enough ppl doing either the mild cafe style or scrambler style setups on sportsters, Harley would do well to take notice. Indian too for that matter. A scrambled scout would do well I think.

:D Nice. I use mine for "Capturing images of future targets".

Damn.Oh shit. I just put my own words in a quotation. We're not sure if those were necessary.

Yep, "targets" and crooks that can be targets if inside my castle.

That's the proper use, but I'm not a grammar cop so I use the... "if you an read it with a margarine of understanding" It's all good 8)

This just came in the mail. 2 and 4 flute metric end mills.
for the record, i am not anti-Harley, they usually don't handle for shit and are pretty slow, but I think they can be REALLY cool none the less. just different priorities. I would even own one if i found it for the right price. My only real beef isn't actually with Harley's, its the dipshits that define their existence by them. Building your identity around a brand is so lame, and I find this with HD owners more than any other brand. It doesn't matter the brand of the bike, the wind is the same.

I TOTALLY agree! Nice post. I work in advertising and I hate that identity by brand. I HATE HDs, or more so the people that ride them. I live in a small town in the country and these white collar half wit "riders" come down main street with their LOUD MOFO pipes and their wives on the back of their bike. Yes, totally drunk on self importance.

I agree that many that call themselves bikers or the gang culture give Harley a bad rep and way too many are crude assholes that think there tough, but take the gun and the 10 buddies away and you have a scared kitten, unless on drugs of course... That said there is a band of brothers out there that provide more money in helping every need that exists from cancer to poverty that can't be dismissed, those guys are the good guys, they come from the hard work class, corporate america and the military ... I don't see that many from other genre's.

Also, with the guys I have spent days on the road with... I could call any one of them 1000's of miles away and with no second guessing they would help me out of any jam I'm in Harley or Gixer rider.

Don't marginalize me Fuckers

Wonder how many of you HD bashers have ever owned a Harley ? Horsepower may be lower than many Japanese bikes but for real world riding torque is king. Slow ??? Maybe in the 1/4 mile or extreme top end, but light to light a stock 883 with an experienced rider can smoke half a dozen sport bikes and their riders all the way through my home town..... well one of them had his girlfriend on the back so maybe only five. Lots of tire smoke and wheelies, not to mention the astonished look on their 20 something faces as they were trounced by a stock.....slow...... 883 Sportster for several city blocks...... block by block. As for cornering, there is not usually much ground clearance if you are comparing them to a sport bike. But you can drag the shit out of the exhaust and pegs without upsetting the bike's composure..... up to a point...... which is better than most if not all the other cruisers. As for the big Harleys, they are perfect if you like two lane roads, slower speeds, and comfort. If you want interstate and high speeds, buy a Honda or BMW. Ease of maintenance is another reason for owning a Harley.... these machines are dirt simple as are many European motorcycles. Japanese bikes are a nightmare in comparison. I am with Tune on this one as I am a multi brand kind of motorcycle guy, my favorites being BMW & Ducati, but HD is in the top three because of their ease of operation and lower tech simple engines. As for the dickheads out there..... they ride all brands, but the HD wannabees are , no doubt, the worse of all. I should know..... a few years ago I was attacked by one of these asshats in my front yard. He almost hit me on the road while I was testing a newly completed Ducati project. I mistook him for a friend of mine and buzzed him back, thinking my pal was just messin' with me. Well.... this dipshit followed me home, got off his bike, pulled out his pistol, and tried to pistol whip me in the head while I still had my helmet on. I stabbed him with my pocket knife.... the police arrived, they were his pals, ignored the fact he was 100 lbs heavier than me, ignored the fact he was very very drunk, and helped in removal of his motorcycle in which his gun was hidden. He left in an ambulance and I left in the back seat of a police car. Three years and thousands of dollars later I was acquitted of any wrong doing. Yep, those posers are real assholes. Well..... have rambled enough. I had better go out in the shed and finish up my Ironhead Sporty engine. Putting in bigger pistons, heads with new stainless valves and a port job (yes, I did it myself). Suspension has already been reworked with progressive springs, longer progressive shocks, and new light weight fork oil. Looks improved with clubman bars and a brat seat...... and it even has real mufflers........

Let's keep on topic gents - take your opinion pieces to another thread. Happy to host the discussions, just try to avoid having them in the middle of the wrong thread.

Very nice stuff. What do you chuck them into?

My knifemaker friend lets me use his classic restored Bridgeport (now with some digital controls). Fun, fun, fun.
