it's an iron-head sporty, it'll be a work in progress until you sell it.....don't get me wrong, i'm sure it'll run, be great fun and give you miles of less than trouble free riding....but been there done that, once bitten twice shy as the saying goes

24' of brass round just lacks a bit of "cool" when it's all cut up to under 5" lengths. There's some 7/32" carbide end mills there too. Time to make the donuts...

And Doc rot, you just bought one of the best books money can buy. I love mine. Tho I gotta say, the little Carr-lane book next to it gets used almost daily here. Tons of handy quick reference for machinists, toolmakers, engineers, etc.

I disagree. If done correctly an Ironhead will be just as dependable as any machine from that era. The bike will always be a beast to ride and not comfortable at all, but still a blast to own and enjoy. The engine is heavy and slow revving with mediocre horsepower but a good amount of torque. This motor is overbuilt and robust as long as it is used within it's design limits.. This isn't my first Sporty project.... Ironhead or Ego. This pic is of my last Sportster project.....883 with Wisco pistons, ported heads, 1200 cams , and screamin' eagle ignition. Very docile around town and will do an honest 125mph.

Dixie international in Columbus is liquidating all of their stock for another month or so... You've been told! I don't have a lot of money as of late, nor any Harley's/Indian's to get parts for so I settled for some stickers.

They have a fuckton of chop parts, vintage race leathers, advertisements, King/queen seats, wheels, spokes, spark plugs, regulator/rectifiers, vintage Buco/Bell helmets, tires, engine cases and much much more. If your in town check it out!

I wonder what changes have been made since the 23rd edition? also i can see why this thing is called the "bible" now, the pages are like rice paper.

No idea. Probably just small tweaks or new iso stuff. They are up to 29 edition now I think.

The nixie tubes for my DIY speedo project finally arrived.

The PoC works, so now it's time to hook up the speedo sensor and see if I can get it working for real.

Vacuum "tubes" and filament digits ?

I'm not sure if there is an internal vacuum, but the digits are all individual neon tubes. Very small ones.

Yeah, not what i was thinking. these: are vacuum tubes with actual filaments.
