did I win some kind of prize?? Like, a 10" round stock 6061.....I only need 10 inches of it

I'm still gonna use mine as counter sinks for tapered machine screws.

Got the whole valve setup for my m21 engine from great shop in Melbourne called Modak Motorcycles. Old school ordering process with old school service.

Very large and heavy setup.

hey Brodie, been going to Modak for over 30 years, bought my first helmet there, old Ma Modak (shes in her mid 80s now) recently got an award for having a businss continually operating in the same premises for over 50 years. a mate of mine who makes a living restoring crappy old bikes buys all his brit bike stuff there
Dave, her son, is a character - to say the least - (some would say tight fisted git, but not me), i recently had some stuff for sale at a swap meet which Dave bought (for less than i wanted) and i was celebrated as possibly the first person to ever get $20 out of him......
they've got a HUGE range of stuff stowed away in little warehouses all over the city (they own the warehouses too) but where else are you going to get that flange locking doodad for your Frankly Impractical 368cc that was only made for 52 minutes in 1947........
oh, yeah, if they're posting those bits up to you, then think of poor old Ma Modak still taking all the parcels down the postoffice everyday in her little shopping trolley every day

Cool stuff.

Reminds me of the "old" Gregory's shop here in Laredo, TX. With old man Johnny behind the counter, Mrs. G. sat at one end with a baby carriage and little Joe sucking his thumb, Johnny Jr. working parts, Rudy in sales and the girls screaming from the back "ANSWER LINE ONE JOHNNY"!!!

Yamaha TZ250 hanging over the counter from the rafters along with every possible gas tank, seat, and sidecover for every brand..

Upstairs, row upon row of shelves stuffed with stacks of forks, shocks, meters, carbs, etc...

MODAK is like a time capsule from the fifties. Even the window display and the smell in the place takes me back to a galaxy far far away.

This. And it chucks up in a 3/4 collet to center drill aluminum bits that don't need a pilot hole. Makes starting out with a big bit easier.

We used to use them to start a hole. Not sure what it is about the geometry but they make centering much easier and stops the drill bit from wandering as it starts. I have small ones from back in the day, but nothing that large.

Yeah, little hole they leave keeps the bit centered. Drill bits going on a walkabout are no bueno. This one does the same, just 5/16", rather than the .125 I normally do. Makes it easier to jump to a 7/8 bit, rather than center drilling, running a 3/8 thru, then going to the big one.

ha, we had a foreman that though he knew everything about everything in the last tool and die shop I worked in. He was just a glorified carpenter in the end... anyhow, he was trying to drill a 1.375" diameter hole through a 3" thick piece of steel. He never center drilled it or pilot drilled it. It probably took him a good 40 min. to drill through it. Of course he wouldn't take any advice because he already knew it all lol

Semi-rare z1r front wheel complete with factory drilled discs. Same spoke pattern as the typical Kawi wheel from the late 70's to early 80's but 18" diameter instead of the garden variety 19".

Just because it was available. :)

Brembo brake control/mc from a YZ for an XLRM hellride project. I ordered the clutch side from the same place, but they shipped separately ...

Officially recieved the signed contract today, so I think it's safe to post this now.

720 sq/ft of brand new awesomeness. There's a pretty nice house that comes along with it too. Plus a nearly half acre backyard (unheard of in town here). Should get the keys 4/29.
