and following from that, funnily enough i see that one of melbourne's trendiest suburbs is getting its own postie bike modifying shop, obviously referencing both deus ex machina, and the moped trend in america.

I wonder what the prices will be like, it says more affordable than Deus (you'd hope so being a postie) but I wonder what the figures will be. As an aside I really like that bluee postie and wouldn't mind something like it but our Cafe bikes are not that much different anyway just more power etc so I cant see the point. As an inner city scoot it's be fun though :)

Cheers

it would indeed, and theres a lot of chinese motors that bolt right up.
there's an appeal, but then again, it's a postie bike. i see too many of them already.

i think postie bikes are overpriced to begin with, but i guess if they sell for 2,500 to 3,000 that's not too bad, compared to shitty chinese scooters, these will probably last alot longer, and aren't made of plastic. I've got a friend who works for Aus Post and he says they struggle to get over 80kph.
price from the auctions is ~1300, $200 for the powdercoat, $120 for the tyres, the rest would mostly be labour. just noticed the green bike is a rigid tail. that is worrying.

i think you need a steering damper to be allowed to run on the salt flats for speed records.

Like the look of that war-scheme postie.

This is reminding me of a classic ride about a month ago. I went along with two mates, riding my RS125. One had a ZX-6, the other had his postie, hahaha....we pottered along at 80km/h and he had the hide to overtake people! Most people thought it was funny as hell but one guy on a Hog got really angry. Top speed down a long hill was touching 90km/h. Thing was, he almost took out the 'modern classic' category, people were hanging around and noting down the entry number all afternoon! Gotta love Australia.

Anyway, guess no-ones seen the place that turbos these things?

Posties the most fun you can have at 70kmh. the best part is you can take them anywhere...
I posted this one somewhere else on here but here it is again.
started as this

All I can say is WOW!!! Was there a build thread with it? Would like to see what they had done to the chassis.

Hell yeah, man, I'd ride that thing for sure! Love the details on that, and the original leading-link front suspension.

Geez, be a blast to rip around town on that...even just for the looks you'd get.

Got the bug and started having a Google, found this one.... tons of speed holes and love the ape hangers. Nice piece of recycling for the seat!

the cub front end is an attractive piece of work, the silver chopper hotfunk posted isn't my favourite (my brain says- petrol tank in front of seat is only right way- ;) -), would have gone towards vintage lightweight racebike, but there's still something special going on

another one i saw on the internet today...

wouldn't call it a chop really, but saw this @ phillip island (australia) on the weekend for the superbike races.

the blue bottle looked like giggle gas, but from what we could see, was only for a giggle anyway (ie: not real). got alot of laughs!
the twin pipes were cool too.
