Powder coat question

I have an extra Hodaka tank I want to powdercoat- Its pitted/ugly leftover chrome with dents etc. I am going to straighten it as good as possible but What filler can I use under the powdercoat so it won't burn off in the powdercoat oven? Any suggestions? Thx!

JRK5892 is the guy to ask about powdercoating.

That being said, I don't think there are any 'fillers' you can use to fill dents in and then powder over. Try Google, but unless you're filling dents with metal filler, I don't think it will work.

I belive that there is also a product called lab metal that can also be used. It is probably best though to ask the coater that you will be using for what he recomends.

You should also leave the filler slightly high and then have the tank put in the oven at the temp the powder will cure at. You can then final sand after this. The filler may shrink some with the heat and this will make sure you don't have any low spots in the finished product.

Good idea to put it in the oven to let the filler stabilize! Will be a bear to sand after but it wont move- Thx!
