Powdercoating over JB Weld?

Been Around the Block
I've been prepping my frame for powder, I ground off all the unneeded tabs and passenger stays, and filed it all smooth. The frame looks pretty close to ready for powder, but I open tubing in the back where the frame was chopped and I need to seal it. I was thinking about using JB Weld to fill in the inside of the tube, but there seems to be some debate about using it for this.

Apparently most powder coating ovens hover from 300 to 400 degrees right? JB Weld can withstand a constant temperature of 500 degrees, so I don't believe that will cause any issues. Has anybody done this before? Or should I stop being a girl and go weld it.

Use Lab Metal (high temperature body filler) it works great.

I'm willing to be a jerk here ;) and say stop being a girl and weld it! haha. But that's because I'm a relatively new welder and can't seem to get enough of sticking metal things together....

Weld, grind, sand, fill and smooth with Lab Metal (tube or can). It is made to withstand powder coat temperatures.

JB Weld works fine, it's cheap lab metal. I've powdercoated quite a bit of my own stuff, used it quite a bit.

Do I understand correctly that you're considering spooging the end of a tube completely full of JB Weld then powdercoating?

Let's think about that a moment...
