Yes sir its sinister. Its close, finish the engine in the next couple of weeks. do some more welding some more fabbing, build a harness buy some more parts some paint and bobs your uncle. Or sit back and enjoy.
I think there is a website that can help with that. I don't know where it is but I figured once i got my sprocket setup I would take the chain that I already have and figure out how short I am from there. That is whole other project there. If I get a chain that is too long i can just shorten it.
I have a question for you guys with cb's with integrated clutch and control setups. I was considering using one of these left hand controls and was curious about the clutch cable pull. Let me know what you think of them . Quality, pull, switch reliability, construction material. I believe they are aluminum. let me know if you'd run one or not. I personally have never even pulled in the clutch on one of these setups.
Meh....it's a cable clutch. Short some really expensive teflon cables they all have a certain flavor, lever effort not withstanding. Personally I dislike the combined lever perch/switch block. Just like a TV/DVD combo.....if one goes out the other is worthless.....
Thanks swagger. So you don't recommend them. I might try and get an h1 or older kz left hand control. Needs to be aluminum so i can polish it if i want to.
Agreed, most people wouldn't have an issue, but for me I like the lever angle to be separately adjustable in relation to the switch gear. As well, and aluded to in my previous comment......should the thing (gulp) fall over, if your lever base brakes that's all you have to replace. Should this combined piece break...well...now you're into more parts and more PIA....just my take. After my first old honda 360 years ago fell over in the driveway and I had to spring for the whole shebang I started digging for separate pieces.
well I'm having an awesome nite. Not. I was cleaning up the garage to make room for my other engine as I have to split the cases on it to get a plug out of it as I don't have the one i need. and I tried to install another plug and it got stuck I don't know if something was on the plug or what but now its stuck halfway in the case. its aluminum so its butchered and I still haven't got it out. Good thing I have a parts engine but damn. Anyhow gonna go beat up the bowflex.
Well I tried to remove the aluminum plug from the cases and it buggered up the threads. I am on the hunt for a new set of cases now. I'm a little frustrated. So close yet so far away. I was kinda thinking of getting a new set of cases anyhow. As I didn't like the modification I had to do to get them to fit in the frame. and I was worried about the glass bead in the engine. I taped them up but they weren't air tight and the shit got everywhere. I suspect it was a grain of glass that locked the plug in the case. i'll play with it some more tom but I'm sure the threads are buggered. I have plenty to keep me busy till I get some more parts.
Not the first time to check your build, just the first time saying something. I've been keeping an eye on it from the start man! Great job so far - you'll get that engine straightened out in no time.
Call it what you want, my wife calls mine "the mess I made in the garage". Not a very flattering name for a bike though.....
When I was a kid I had a dog named "Stoopid"....dunno what it has to do with your travails but your comment reminded me of a very hilarious furry pal I had. Lived up to his name pretty often. Knocked himself out (as in unconscious!!!!!) with a coffee table once.....
hahaha I dont dont know if thats some back handed way of calling me stoopid but I had a dog that was named weebles. As in she weebles and wobbles and then she falls down. She had water on the brain and her equilibrium was messed up. Like if you woke her up and put on the floor she'd just fall over she would do this over and over again untill she shook herself ouf like a wet dog would then she would stumble around a bit like a drunk. She couldnt back up either one time she was walking around the kitchen and stuck her nose in the area between the fridge and the wall she couldn't move just stood ther till I picked her and moved her. I loved her she was sweet and funny to watch a lot of laughs at her expense. RIP Weebles
