project low and slow.

That looks good. What frame mods are you making? and what shocks are those? keep it up

The frame mods are rather simple, I just need to weld some mounting tabs for my electrical/battery tray on it, make my new brake linkage which is gonna require some welding on the frame because the way the factory brake was setup it went under the frame and I'm worried about scraping the ground with that setup and I have to reinforce some areas I took lots of metal out and drill some holes for the wiring to run through the frame

Alright so yestarday I got the rear brake figured out for the most part, took the tank back down to bare metal because I wasn't happy with it and came up with a game plan for my electronics. I do have a couple questions though....I know a lot of people here frown down upon the 16" drop center rear wheel but I'm considering doing it with a 21" front wheel with hopefully a 90 or 100 up front and 130 outback, any thoughts or concerns? If its gonna be too much of a headache I'm just gonna run a 100 up front and 130 out back on my stock wheels. And my second question is about a battery, I think I'm gonna keep it kick start only, so I want something tiny I can jam up in the fuel tank tunnel, does anyone know of one that exists? And since I want to keep it kick start only I want a starter plug, anyone know where to get one?

i already know the comments are gonna be coming about how the bike is too low to ride on the street and im too tall for the bike sooo...... before that happens the bike is gonna be sitting about 1/2" higher (not that its that much more but it is a little bit) and my ass is gonna be slid back about 5-6" and liftwed another 1-2" by the seat, i was just having fun with it while i could.

IMO on sprung rearends. the builder should never take the swing arm past "parallel" with the ground.. Fucks up the lines bad. I dont think a chop can be too low. but good lines are good lines... and the swing arm being in the negative 3,4,5 degrees will give your bike a broke back/ swayback appearance. like a an old horse

I'm with you 100%, that picture was before I got my shocks and it was very roughly mocked up for the ride height. I understand about what you're saying about the broke back appearance, the seat area will be parallel to the ground but unfortunately I won't be able to do anything about the swingarm being a little high inorder to get the stance I want, next winter I plan on going to a hard tail so that'll cure that problem. Do you have any solutions to the questions I asked above? I already know how you feel about the 16" drop center on cares but what about bobbers?

Drop center..? ya mean like a drop seat frame? I'm not a big fan of drop seat frames... but thas because they generally require forward controls.

and I hates me some forwards! haha

No I mean a 16" drop center rim. I think I'm confusing you with crazypj, I do that all the time and I don't know why

I really like the stance you have going on, but I have to agree with Louie. I'd adjust to plane out the swinger even if it meant moving mounting points.

Glad to see a Fellow Hondasofnewengland member moving into the bike world... Keep at it, Over the summer well have to meet and maybe spin wrenches together
