Project Rapido XS650 - Build Thread

Man. Those hardtails are sharp. The TC Bros ones are ok but lack style as is. This is going to be cool.

Thanks! Yeah not really into the TC Bros tails. I know ordering one of these tails would take longer but it was
definitely worth the wait. The welds look fantastic! Can't wait to start mocking up wheels and tanks.

I'm sure you've thought of it but I'd move the headlight slightly forward to get it off the lines of the bars... Might open it up a bit more visually.. Good build, I like the 650's hard tailed out!!!

Thanks man! Yup I'm Making a custom headlight bracket that is notched on the top and lower so I can adjust it forward/back and top/lower lengths

When you're looking for air filters, you'll want UNI clamp on foam filters to match your drawing.

Those are exactly what I'm going for! Awesome

Are you going to add the extra struts in the frame where you have the mesh/perforated stuff in the drawing?

I plan to re-use the mid control section like the red highlighted in this pic

Ah, I see... Are you going to grind/weld and clean up the unused bits of that section? I specifically decided to go with a Voodoo Vintage hardtail instead of going soft tail brat to get rid of that part... It is pretty lumpy and ugly. I thought about cutting it down to the essentials and boxing it back in. But swung hardtail.

I like lumpy and ugly than :) I plan to use that section

That thing is awesome...and tiny! You must have a weak bladder, gotta stop every half hour to pee!

Kidding man, that's a killer tank.

Awesome piece of work on that tank. No range to speak of, but pure Rocket Man style.

I agree, not the most practical tank for long rides but it serves it's purpose very well. This bike will be my little COFFEE RACER for mostly city riding.

Mock up on the frame. Still deciding on placement.
