Does anyone know a good home bench grinder and sandblaster for reasonable money?
I have looked at many online but they all seem to have problems

All of us buy our cheap tools at Harbor Freight in the US or Princess Auto in Canada.

With tools you will ALWAYS get what you pay for. For the home hack, Harbor Freight stuff usually works well but keep in mind what it is. If you want flawless performance, break out the credit card.

I have the harbor freight floor cabinet for sand blasting. As long as you have some type of suction on the cabinet (shop vac, dust collector, etc) it works fine. When it comes to grinders, typically the bigger the motor the better. Always try craigslist and see what you can come up with.

Kanticoy here put up a really good walkthrough on making the HF blast cabinet a good performer. I use their grinder regularly and can vouch for its ability to grind stuff.
