R1 Cafe

That red/alloy bike was done by Jesse James - you might recognize the spiderweb steel door in the background.

Now that is a sick bike... hardly noticed it though.. got caught watching your avatar........ who is that? ;D

I'm on the fence, looks sharp but has a unfinished look to it...can't pin point what it is though.

TheBronze....your avator has a Hip-Mo-Tizing affect...it's hard to look away!

Saw this 'photoshop' concept of a Kawasaki ZX10R that I REALLY like! Much the same as the R1 machine!

Whatdaya think?

I'm not digging the seat. It might work if there were more retro elements on the bike, but it doesn't work for me on it's own.

I hear what you're sayin'. It's tough to build one of these with a true retro look! There are so many basic elements of these machines that refuse to look ancient!

I see the seat matching the curve of the tank, the round headlight, turn signals and the retro-look rear fender.

I'd ride it! ;) ;D

Meh, never been into mixed-era bikes. Old machines that try to perform like new ones and new machines that try to look like old ones. Kinda defeats its own purpose.

I agree with the above statement 150%.
Thats why I bought a air cooled Monster ;D

Yeah they didn't have any water cooled bikes "back in the day"..... ::)

Very cool bikes both the Yammie and the Kawi . I would put them in the " Streetfighter " category though. But then again the Streetfighter is really a salute to the old caferacers . It's a modern caferacer. Hats off. ;D

slightly ironic, i read this post yesterday, thinking pfffff.... water cooled.

then i got stuck in city traffic jam because some roads were closed during rush hour....

needless to say, i ate my words

You are correct sir, Their were in fact water cooled bikes "back in the day".
And they are as nasty looking now as they were when they first came out.

Kinda off track, but I think I may be one of the only people who likes vintage bikes, but not guzzis, vincents, or most spoke wheels. Ehh oh well.

If we all liked the same stuff, life would be pretty boring.

On cafes, I usualy prefer wire wheels.... but wide ones at that. Seen in person wide wire wheels look great on a vintage bike.
