the side cover of a motor for example the alternator w/ Honda emblem what material is it made out of. i'm assuming aluminum. oh one more thing in the manual when reading the wear limits of the piston rings. the meaning of the limits mean no more or less than what is stated correct?
in the manual it states wear limits for piston ring cap is .031in .80mm. for me not to replace the rings it should be no bigger than .031 or should it be within the difference of the stock measurement and .031?
its a little difficult for me to explain it with out showing something but hopefully someone can help me out.
thats what i figured. what about when ordering piston rings. do you order to what you measured. i want to replace the rings but i'm not planning on boring the motor due to the measurements being ok.
in the manual it says the standard value is .15mm or .006in. is this the stock sizing?

Usually I think the manufacturer will just say the rings are stock or overbored to a certain dimension. So I am not totally sure, but this might help http://www.ehow.com/how_5075482_determine-piston-ring-size.html
I think that value of 0.15mm is the piston ring gap.
