"RATTLE CAN" BLING! ...everything is here!

So what is the general consensus on duplicolor paired with spraymax clear? Which plays nicer, the enamel or the lacquer? What about the "Perfect Match" line from duplicolor. It doesn't say enamel or lacquer, so I assume its lacquer.

I had good results with duplicolor perfect match under spraymax 2k but on my most recent paint job I spent a few extra bucks and used the whole spraymax line from 66 auto color, 2k epoxy primer, 2k filler primer, 1k color, 2k clear and I think it turned out nicer.

want to paint my fork lowers and triples in satin black. due to them being aluminium, would a standard spray can of rustgaurd type enamel paint be the best optiion here?

You should look at epoxy paint for fork tubes and triples.

Thanks for posting about perfect match. That's exactly what I wanted to know.

oh well thats foolish of me. the paint I was plannjng to use is an epoxy enamel. just need some etch primer cause of aluminium.

with the appliance paint, just scuff the surface and make sure it's very clean, then spray it directly on the bare metal

the epoxy enamel im using is made by white knight and specifies for porous metals to use an etch primer.

I'm looking to paint my engine with vht paint but the primer and clear I have are just duplicolor engine enamel. I know that the temperature thresholds for these are different but when I tested the three on an old flange it came out rather nice. However I don't know if once heated it'll have any negative effect, anyone have any experience, thoughts on this?

I don't have time to read this now as I have a brunch ride in the morning, but I am totally going to read the hell out of it and try it out!!! Thanks for doing this!

Hi guys just thought i would post some pics of my completed engine i pianted using spray enamel paint i probably spent 2 weeks cleaning it before paint using Gunk Dremmel tools and various grades of wet and dry, turned out pretty nice and looks even better with the help of the Joker Machine parts.

Sweet looking motor mate 8) well worth all the hard prep work :p they always look better with a bit of contrast colour rather than the lump of a silver block ??? keep goin mate she gonna be cool ;)

Lots of impressive paint jobs. Reminds me of an article in an old hot rod mag talking about how people turned some maco paint jobs into show paint

Love this. I was looking into plastidip for the door pillars on my impala. (its the 8th gen with the cheap black plastic ones that the sun makes crackle). I thought about the bikes also. I think it is a good cheap way to "test" the scheme of colors for your ride before you do the permanent powder coat. You can change the colors frequently also since there are so many colors available.

Dj, I would love to see a couple more shots of those wheels!

Hey everyone,

I have a question for guys who have used the spraymax 2K clear. When laying on the clear did you guys lay on one coat then wait 15-30 mins before laying on the next coat? or did you guys just lay 4 straight coats, wait 15-30 mins and then lay another 4 straight coats?

Thanks
