Vonyinzer has a few nice sets of pipes mabbie a tank and pm andrew21502 he has a mess of stock parts i gave him with a 250 i just sold him i think he is building a brat so its all most likely not getting used

I am I terested in the seat for sure. Can't tell from the photo what kind of condition the fender is in. My chrome is great but there are like 5 obnoxious dents.

Looks.like brad got me on the seat. My pan is rusted out on the bottom edge. My rear fender was nice until I ran over it with my truck.

Yup. I've got two sets of good useable pipes and at least one useable tank. Let me know if ya want pics.

My rd has 2.15 xs650 rear hoops laced to xs650 front hubs with rd350 front spokes i also have a 120 tire up front its tight but it fits the tire is getting swaped out for a smaller something. the steering tube for a xs triple is like 2' longer than a rd/r5 and the cast lead brake calipar and rotor suck at best so toss them and grab a set off a of a fzr1000 cut the bolt circle out of your stock rotor and use it as a 1/4 spacer the big brakes will move the calipar placement to the narrowest spread ofor the spokes so all you need to do is dress the inside od the 4 pot brake calipars with a grinder and build a adapter plate and your set

Went back and read this again. Are you running xs front hoops on both the front and rear Rd hubs?

18' Xs rear hoops on the front and rear.
the xs and rd front hubs are the same other than the fact that both sides of the xs hub are drilled for rotors.
My rear is a yz125 rear disc hub, they come in 18 & 19 so i bought spokes for a 18 inch wheel and laced in the high shoulder xs hoop

i did the exact opposit on my tracker its 19/19 i used two 19' front xs hoops.
the front is stock xs the rear is a yz125 with spokes for a 19' rear

Decided to spend some time after work switching out the R5 front end for the XS650. XS Stem is .75 inches too long for the neck on the R5 so I had to take a bit out.

Turned down the stem, removing 1 inch.

Cut a slug to fit stem ID.

Using the Triples I positioned the slug straight and welded the stem back together.

Cleaned up nice and fits perfectly.

This should be strong enough if not stronger than stock i do believe.

Time to rebuild and shorten the forks 1.5 inches. Plus was missing the lathe a bit. :)

Decided to go with some MikesXS progressive Springs.

Painted the lowers black to cover up all the Corrosion.

Had to build spacers to lower the forks.

Nice Fit. Just need the oil return hole and set screw.

Question. When I cut the springs how much do I need to cut off?

Normally you cut the same length as the spacer, but the progressives are longer to begin with. How much should I cut out and where what side should I cut it from. Standard or progressive wound?

Some how I managed to lose one of the spacers that goes on the Damper Rod. Found some tool steel and made one up.

Also drilled and tapped my aluminum spacers.

It was a good evening.

Got the tapered neck bearings in the rebuilt/lowered xs650 front end and put on the bike. Also found time to rebuild the rear brakes.

I am in need of a 19" xs650 front hoop to lace to the rear hub. Anyone?
