Real Shitty Day

I just got home from probabbly the worst day ever at work.
I was giving private riding lessons at the track today since 9 this morning. My student with new Duc "Paul Smart" dumps the bike going into a turn, leaned over at around 4ish. I was right behind him by a few meters when his bike comes out from under him. Im guessing he pulled the front brake to hard, or geared down while leaning into the turn.
He dumps the bike, I swerve to avoid him and I almost lost control of mine bike and almost dumped it. FUCK!

Well, hes not doing to well in the hospital, his bike is toast, I get in total SHIT by my boss for "pushing him to hard"

What a fucking shitty day.

Im in bad mood!

Yikes!

People ditch bikes on tracks, there's no avoiding it.
All the best to him, though... Big number one to your boss.

P.S. Giving private lessons at the track? Nice!

yeah, the big middle finger number one.
I work part-time at a Miami Speedway track as ride/race instructor.

Todays "incident" was the 4th one this week in 3 days. Its not good for the school rep.

Ease as in Easy?.
Are U that cute guy I saw in a post somehere surrounded by all the blonde chicks?

Ease, Easy - either or. That's what they call me.

And yes, guilty. That was me with the goofy smile and a few of my closest friends... Although I think only 2 of the 6 were blond... hmm... 8) 8)

2 of the 6 huh?
Well, I guess the only way to know if the blonde is really blonde, is to, well you know.

I guess if anyone would know who is a natural blonde, it would be you Mr Studly

What track are you running at this early in the spring? I'm down south in Texas and the tracks are just starting to open again. You're lucky to get that much seat time. For the most part, it's been chilly and raining here :)

EDIT: Nevermind, you're in Miami; nice. Why would you want to move from Miami to TO? They have a short riding season (and talk funny) up there!

Ouch...that sucks.
I guess I could understand the wipeout if you were infront of the guy ;D
I hope he's ok...

I've had the same exact f'n shitty day about 4 years ago!! I hope he’s well and can get back on the horse at some point! I too have been behind someone that dumped it in a turn and it wasn’t good, he lost his shift foot in the wreck but eventually got a prosthetic and today he's cruising a ducati 748, kudos to GC! ...ya know come to think of it I could use a refresher hoho, I’m in Tampa and can be in Miami in about 3hrs…when can you fit me in?  ;D

HH, don't kick yourself because the guy wrecked. Anyone going on a track has to expect that sooner or later it'll happen. Unfortunately for this guy it was sooner.
I've come off my bike several times in the last three years of racing, some hurt more than others. Some cost more than others. In racing you ride, you crash, you fix, you heal, end of story.
Just think what would've happened if the guy was doing that on the street instead of a track with nearby medical help. He probably learned a very painful and expensive lesson that he will carry for the rest of his life.
If there is an upside to this story, the fact that you avoided him and didn't end up on your a$$ should count for something.
Tomorrow will be better, hang tough!

It does put a damper on the day to put it mildly, i had a few whilst i was racing, side swiped going into Russels at snetterton, tailended going into clearways at Brands and missed a hand hold in the worm outfit through the goose neck at cadwell (100mph ish) that hurt, wrote off my leathers and crash helmet. also kitty litter in the outfit after blow ups (didnt know i could fly) The outfit one was the only one that was down to me, the others were others poor riding. But that said and done it is part of racing, not a nice part but a risk you take and in the heat of battle all sorts of stuff happens. He knew the risk but didnt have the skill his look out. But hope he mends and learns.
Remember you cant teach people who wont listen and think they know better. ;D

thanks everyone for the encouragement.
Well looks like out school is being sued by the first rider who wiped out last week. looks like our "iron clad" waiver wasnt so iron clad afterall. oh well. Im outta here at the end of the month.

Hey chrisf, I want to move to Toronto cuz its far enough away from my parents, who are in Vancouver and I can still get some healthcare for free!. Actually, I have a tenative job lined up, on the condition I can get my ass to Toronto.

Hey Herm, lol, anytime you are in Miami after the next few weeks, send me a PM and I"ll hook you up at the track for a few laps!

Thanks so much Bandit for the kind words. You definately are my fav "dirty old man". As soon as I get to Toronto, come up and see me!

hey allie, I read somewhere that you are planning to come to Toronto to!. Hey mabe we could be roomates!

A waiver is really only as good as the other guys lawyer. A few years back their was a trackday at Mosport where a rider unfortunately lost his life. To my understanding, it was either almost the end of Mosport or the guys that put on the trackday.
This country is getting as "SUE" happy as the U.S. of A. :(
Culpability and responsibility mean nothing except in court anymore!

As soon as I get to Toronto, come up and see me!

I've been thinking of a road trip to one of the Clubs socials for a while now, sounds like a plan. Soon as the weather turns nice I'll hop on my 1200 and head East!
