Hey guys, well apparently the guy I bought the bike from forgot to mention that the rear master cylinder, linkage and lines were missing. Since the bike was not running when I got it I failed to notice. Anyone know where I can get what I need? Basically what I have is the pedal, the switch and the caliper/rotor/pads. I know the master cylinder is missing, what else is needed? what other years will fit? Thanks

Nick

you can try getting a master cylinder and cables off of a newer bike... Something like a cbr600 will most definitely work, if with a tiny bit of modification.

any idea of a certain year I should look for? or will any year fit? Any help is appreciated. I am trying extremely hard to get this in riding condition for a charity ride at the end of the month. thanks

Nick

no specific year really...

The size of the rear caliper never really changes... you can only use so much braking power.

Just find one for cheap and buy it.

And check your junk yards- you may just get lucky... Hell, even if your not sure if it works, chances are itll be cheap enough that you can just buy it to test it out.

no junkyards with bikes around here :( everyone around seems to keep their junk bikes. Good thing is rear masters/res are around $25 on ebay. Also just broke my clutch perch, new one is $65 with the switches so I think Im just going to buy one of the universal ones.

I think I might have one in the garage. Let me check tonight and I'll get back to you.

picked up a nice complete rear setup from an 03 cbr600rr. Includes rear master, res, brake line, snazzy gold caliper and bracket...all for $40 total after shipping. Im hoping the caliper bolts up to my original bracket, would be a nice addition but not necessary. All I care about is the master and res

good luck!

you should be able to get the caliper to bolt up with either a new bracket, or maybe it may be a direct bolt on ;D
