Rear Sets And Brake Lights + Sensors... Hrmm

green behind the ears
so I have taken all of the brackets off of my frame, and one that i had at was.. the rear brake light sensor bracket,
doing my mock up, trying to figure out my fit on the bike, noticed i need to account for this part, and make a replacement solution

should i

A. re weld on a similar to stock bracket in the same place
B. Relocate the stock sensor in a new fashion ( of your suggestion?)
C. Fuck it, the front brake light sensor is enough

what is the word around here?

I'm leaning towards just replacing what i took off in haste

It should be possible to either clamp or weld on a bracket to hold the brake light switch.

The only problem with having 1 switch (front in your case) is when it breaks. My 68 only had a switch for the rear brake, so when it broke I didnt even want to ride it.

if you are replacing the brake lines as well you might want to try an inline pressure switch. I used ones from a volkwagen bug. cheap and available at any auto parts store

*forehead slap* don't know why it didn't occur to me that might be the case... since mine is both drum also ::)

Since all you really need is any type of momentary switch, maybe try going to Radio Shack/etc. and look at some of the micro switches. You might be able to something trick with one of them.

Don't the cb350 brake cables come with the switch inside? Being that I don't own one, I don't know for sure. But I recall seeing some wires coming out of a cable before......

That would be for the front brake - he's talking about the rear.

I'd say fuck it - just run the front switch ;)

x2 on fuckit... that's what i'm gonna do on my 3fiddy... i put woodcraft rearsets on my '05 CBR600rr which deleted the rear brake light switch. i had contemplated putting a pressure switch in but didn't get around to it and ended up riding the bike for 5 years without a rear brake switch! so press on, get riding (i THINK that's the point of these things isn't it? although you couldn't prove it by my progress...) and if the popo somehow discover it (unlikely) work out a solution then!

you cant pass test in some states with only front.

just clamp on the switch if you dont want to weld. replacement oem pull types are available, dime city has them.

I bought a Gimbel rear set for a GS500 (1989-2010). It came with a pressure switch that goes between the master cylinder and the banjo bolt. Simple and works.
