rear sets which ones to get??

I have been reading al the post about rear sets and I still dont know which ones to get. can any of you tell me what you know about the ones you bought? Price, function, best deal?

Well... Let's start with telling us what bike they're destined for. Next question, do you want something that's a direct bolt up (which isn't necessarily a possibility outside of a few more popular models) or do you have the ability to fabricate mounts, linkages, etc. Rear drum or disk brake? Help us help you.

I personally recommend you get some off of a stock sport bike and fab any needed brackets to mount them on your bike. Factory rearset pegs fold up and most aftermarket ones do not. The folding mechanism is a safety feature.

Plus, you can usually get them pretty cheap since lots of people replace the stock ones. I got a good set off of a Yamaha R1 for $30.

There are several on here that build them, both folding and fixed. Are they as cheap as some off of a sportbike, no. They look a lot better, though.

That's why I said "most". And your folding rearsets look great!

I also got my rearsets for about $30 from a busa... They came with all the linkages and master (for future rear disk)
They are plentiful and cheap, not to mention you can upgrade to the aftermarket bling one's at a later date if you so desire.
Busa rear sets are also rubber mounted which was a bit of a lucky surprise, I'd never go back to solid mount now, so much nicer on the feet!

If I could get rearsets for $30 I'd have a few sets just to mess with. A shifter costs $30 here. Rearsets from a breaker are never under $100.

Amazing! I bought mine probably 5 years ago, I just checked my eBay here and pretty much in line for what you are saying. I guess guys caught on and the demand went up???

After buying some for my 2000 Bonnie, decided to fab Me own this time around.
Cept for the scratch in the primary (dang drill bit) they work tighter than the store boughts

I thought the same thing. It took me four attempts and a complete re-engineer to adapt a Hayabusa to my CB. I think I have a better system, but it was no small task. And it took the help of a couple of experts.
