Ok so i am getting rid of my front turn signals on my '74 cb450 and want to just run two lights on the back of the bike...brake light/ left and right signals/ and then my running lights. How do I go about doing this? Is a different relay or something needed to do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you can get a trailer adapter at any automotive parts store that takes your running light, brake light and turn signal leads in on one side and converts to work with two 2 filament lights.... both burn low when your running, both burn bright on the brakes and one side blinks bright for turn signals. i foolishly got the expensive competition werkes one http://secure.compwerkes.com/Detail.bok?no=313 only to find that i can get the trailer one for like half the price!

i'm getting to this point also. i have some led blinkers and haven't picked up a brake/running light yet. i'm looking for a thin straight light like 2inx4in or 2inx6in. with this adaptor any photos of the hook ups? i'm definitley going to have someone help with this wiring stuff.

some of the adaptors have a 4 blade or 7 blade and i'm just trying to figure out how this would wire up.

take a look at Enduro taillights.
Honda and Suzuki have real nice looking LED

thanks for the posts.
derant...have you ran this product before? I wont be having a rear fender on the bike and was just wondering how you would even mount this.

and as for that straight thin light...well i have seen them before on another bike in a different forum but i can not remember what was written about it.

I must have overlooked that you won't be running a fender, so this probably wouldn't work for your application.

I haven't used this light yet, but I intend to. I will be fabricating an aluminum seatcowl that I will be integrating it into.

just my 2 cents, but clear lense + daytime = ticket for me. i have a skinny 20+ led taillight that just wouldnt cut it in the daytime. looked great at night, but with the sun at my back the cop couldnt see it. and depending on what state you are from a red reflector is required. it looked cool but was more of a pain than it was worth...

There are a couple of other pics that have some dimensions at the link.

So the unit is 6.75"W x 3.5"H.

what state are you in? i'm sure it will be the same here in cali but cops seem to not care about some things and care about other (it depends on how they feel i guess)

this was in san francisco. cop told me he didnt care it was clear untill i stopped and he couldnt see it. side by side, at night, the led's were brighter than my lucas w/ a 1157... but under bright sunlight, the 1157 behind a red lense was the winner. if you go l.e.d. dont go generic. you pay for what you get!
