Rear wheel question

So I currently have a 16" rear wheel on my 86' CB450. I am planning on have a local fab guy hardtail it. The majority of the tires I like start at a 17" rear wheel. Would a 17" wheel off of a larger CB model fit my drum, sprocket and other current hardware?? Trying to keep cost of additional parts down. Thanks!!

FYI I'm eye balling a 1993 CB650 wheel. I looked over the sticky of axle diameters and wasn't able to find either year of bikes.

It would likely be pretty close to bolt up, but can't say for sure. What tires are you looking at? Theres a pretty good selection of 16" rubber out there as most HDs and other "cruisers" run that size wheel. I'm assuming yours is pretty narrow though?

The Avon Distanzia is my first choice. I'm going for a dual purpose look of tire.

Nice. I ran the Shinko 705s on my last XS650 chop. They look great and on the absolute shit Western PA roads around here, were very nice. They're similar in looks to the Avons, but way cheaper. Check them out.
