Rearsets for GN125? Really need to know before I start.(pictures of bike)

I'm going ahead with plans to turn my Suzuki GN125 into a café race. Not the best bike to start with, but it's all I've got and all the law will allow me to have (stupid UK bike laws!!). Basically I want to know if it's possible to fit rear sets to this bike model, because without them there would be little point. Here are a few pictures of GN café racers, but all without rear sets. Also is a picture of my bike in standard trim.

Any ideas or suggestions would be cool. Even if I have to have them made for the bike, would be better than not having a café racer. Have some good ideas for engine tuning too!

Cut the passenger peg brackets off the frame, shorten them to get the pegs where you want them, weld them back on, then build linkage. Pretty basic fabrication project.

Hiya mate welcome into the madness haha ;) wot about using your rear pegs then all ya need is linkages for your gear n brake something you'd have to sort anyways try sitting on ya bike n putting ya feet onto rear pegs see if it feels ok could do with swapping seat out too so you get down further put up some more pics close ups of ya linkages both sides gives us a better idea how to help ya mate 8)

Hi mate. Yeah I was thinking about that and have ridden using the rear pegs. Feels fine and I quite like having my feet that far back. Feel like a real racer ha! How would I get the linkage?

Don't use the rear pegs. Not only would the linkage for the shifter be WAY too long, but the riding position would be fit for drag racing and not a "cafe".

You need to be positioned so that you're using your whole body to control the bike, not lying on it and hoping for a fun ride like a drunk high school kid after prom.

Study the positioning in relation to the seating area on some real racers or modern sportbikes then transfer that to your 125. No point in half assing it. Do it right or there's no point in doing it at all.

Good luck man. Keep us posted.

Fair do's, bro. I just don't really understand the concept of what needs to be done in terms of creating a rear set, especially for my 125. Kind of need the info spoon feeding to me.

There are several companies offering universal rearsets. Basically you'll need those, and to manufacture mounting brackets that will be welded to the frame. The rearsets mount to those. Then you attach it all with linkages.

There are literally dozens of threads detailing the process here on DTT. Search around a bit and all your questions will be answered.
