Rearsets HELP

Hi All,

I have attached three photos below. The guys I bought this bike from installed a custom rearset bracket that was kind of janky and clunky. The other day the right peg was shorn off when someone hit it parking too close to me.

I took off the existing bracket and intended to replace it with this (http://cognitomoto.com/collections/rearsets/products/cb750f-rearset-brackets-gsxr-master-cylinder-conversion), but I ran into an issue mounting the right bracket as it hits the frame where I am pointing.

In your opinion, whats the move? I like the bracket and it will work with the master cylinder, just doesn't fit the frame as it is.

Grinder?

What year / model is the 750, just so we're all on the same page. I'm guessing that is just a tube welded to the frame to hold a rubber mounted exhaust hanger or something. Looks like you'd need to just trim a bit of it off to allow the bracket to sit flush, or put a spacer (washers) between the new bracket and frame. It looks like the Cognito brackets use the engine mounting bolts?

Tim!

Thank you. I've long lerked the site. Time to dive in!

I figured it might be a matter of grinding that off but wanted to get a second opinion before I started choppin and grindin.

Thanks for the quick help! Starting a new project, so i'll be coming back often.

That's the tube where the original brake lever assembly would rotate. No need for it if you're not putting the original brake setup back on.
