Ive got a tank in good shape but rusty on the inside. looking for someone to 'restore' it and paint it professionally.
anyone knows a good painter in Toronto? simple 1 color job.

for the rust, someone suggested to completely fill the tank with 'Evapo-rust' and let it do it's thing for about a week. anyone ever tried that?

thanks

I read on another forum that someone dumped 2 bottles of Pinesol into a rusty tank and it came out squeaky clean. Worked for carbs too. Any autobody shop can shoot a single colour paintjob. If you want a motorcycle specialist, Connery's is top notch.

all i can say to you, its do NOT buy any type of metal rescue or evaporust if your tank is really rusted.. if you have some surface rust that you could get rid of with some sandpaper, then use those chemicals, but if you have rust i suggest going with strong stuff, i took mine to a radiator shop and he charged me $60 to de-rust and seal the tank and i couldn't have been happier!

hey conman, here is what i did on a bad tank, first i spent $75 on two gallons of metal rescue( total crap and waste of money, did absolutely nothing), then i put boiling water and white vinegar 50/50 mix in the tank right to the top, and left it , and then i went and spent another $50 on por 15 product , the next morning i drained the tank of the water/vin mix to put the por stuff in and bingo the tank looked great, so i returned the por 15 and bought a case of sleeman honey brown, and went back to the garage and repeated the water and vinegar yet again just to follow it up with a little extra someum, someum and the tank looked even better, so give that a try... nick ( just for the record let me state that i in no way shape or form work for sleeman, and yes some beer was harmed in the making of this email)...nvp
