Recommendations for jetting anyone?

Tore apart my carbs again, found I'm running 118 mains, along with 42 slows and needle at 1 up from bottom. That being said, I've got a 4-1 exhaust and velocity stacks, but also have pods if need be. Where it's at right now, I can't rev past 4000 without it going chh chh chh and dying when idling. While riding, I have no midrange, it's either very little throttle or near full open, anything in between bogs and kills it. I'm thinking 120 or 122 mains, 42 slow, and maybe needle in the middle? Any suggestions? Stock is 120 mains, 40 slow, and I'm not sure what needle setting.
 
What bike are we talking about here? Also, what carbs?

When you do start to make changes, be sure to only do one change at a time. I know its a pain removing the carbs for each change, but multiple changes will only confuse the matter.

I'm gonna go for 115 mains and a 40 slow with needle in the middle and see where that gets me.
