Red Wing boots?

What is a good Red Wing boot for riding?

We have a fairly good discount at work plus, they take the cost directly out of payroll.

What are your guys experiences?

Those are the ones I was looking at.

We have their shoe mobile thing coming to work on Friday.

I think I will get them.

Try and get the ones with the ankle straps. It sucks when the tops start to get a little loose from wear.

anyone know the difference between the 2990 and 2991?

Their website is kind of shitty.

My first riding shoe was a pair of Redwings, I couldn't even pretend to tell you what "model" but I wore a pretty good hole in the top of the toe (with the rubber nub on my Ducati) in about a season (10-12k miles) of riding. I've got a pair of Dianese boots now and I would never go back.

For whatever that's worth.

I wear the 606 Men's 6-inch Boot at work, and since I spend a lot of time standing on concrete, I really like the padding that the thick sole provides. They've saved my toes a few times too! I still have my first pair, which are about seven years old now.

The soft toe boots are easier to ride in than the safety toe boots, but some shifter adjustment helped with riding with the steel toe boots on.

I like them and think they are very comfortable and durable.

I'm currently wearing a pair of steel toe 'wings, #6662. They are my old work boots- third pair of them I've had. I get two hard years out of them at work and then ride with them for a couple more. I'm due for replacements now but just can't give them up.

Wahoo, you know you can send them in for like 80-90 and they will resole your shoe and work the leather to make it a brand new shoe.. That way you dont have to keep buying new ones.

The pair of redwings I'm wearing right now were bought on ebay 2nd hand for 20 bucks. I have had them re-soled twice for 40, wear em' every day, and they are going strong after 6 years. Just bought a new steel toe pair, sure i'll get plenty of years outta them too.

I've got a pair of JDM Iron Rangers. (And no... I didn't pay $700 for them.... picked them up in the outlet bin at the factory for peanuts.) Great boots!

Ronnie, Ya, did that with a pair a several years ago. Even had one pair replaced free after i split the soles in only 6 months. I'm in manufacturing (stamping and machining) and they really get chewed up by the steel- I also walk constantly and typically wear the inside liner out first. By the time I'm done with them they are pretty wasted. I'd have to send them in every year and at that point it's just as cheap to buy new every other year- besides by then they feel soooo goood all broken in. Even so, no other brand has gotten me through the 2 year point and still been even wearable. I also like that they still offer models that are made in America. ;D
