Relocating the CB350 ignition

OK this might be heresy but having to reach under my tank all the time for my ignition switch is a real hassle. Why'd they do this in the first place? Are there kits available to do this? Has anyone done a really cool job of it?

Actually, mine's already been relocated to the top of the triple. I kinda don't like it and want to move it back, but don't know what the original bracket looks like... Take a couple pics?

The ignition switch is located under the tank to hide it from rain that may collect in the keyhole and cause corrosion. Just get used to it. If you want to relocate it to the handlebar clamp you'll need to extend the wires and use one of these brackets:

Given what you've said maybe I'll live with it a bit before taking the plunge. On another note I can't believe shipping is $17.50 US for a seemingly light $5 part.

I'm adding a photo of the "Cycle Experts" part for the benifit of the archives after the eBay auction expires:

I much much prefer the functionality and appearance of having the ignition under the tank. I loved it on my CB500K and missed it on my CB550F. Too much clutter up top.

Frankly I'm not sure where it would get more exposure to the elements. If you keep your bike outside uncovered, then yeah, the tank would offer some protection. But in day to day riding, I don't think there would be much difference.

Leave it where it is!
