I picked up a new set of signals for my 77' CB550k and looking at how the factory ones are on my bike I am not 100% on how to get them off. Do I need to remove the front forks and slide them off or is there another way?

Shouldn't have to (but I don't know what the og signals look like). Got a pic?

Weird, are those stock? Cus ive never seen them set up like that (though ive never seen a 550 in person before). Looks like the only way to get them off is to pull the forks and slide them down, but that doesnt seem right to me... Is there a clamp in the back or anything? Or are they solid all the way around?

It is probably easier to remove the bars then the top part of the tripple, and then slide the ears up and off............if you are replacing the signals the wires go through the stem/stalk and kind of behind the ear.....kind of a pain to do it with the ears mounted,,but if you are determined you can do it ....you can not remove the signal stalks unless you cut them off,or replace the entire ear with after-market...
