Its not a Cafe without Clubmans
Repainting gas tank and wanna know fastest most effective way for removing paint already tried paint remover and didn't work don't know if it was crap or not sanding works but is taking to long. Any suggestions?

I considered using sand blasting but am concerned it will brake through some of the rust on the bottom and make a hole where one had already been patched.

You want to be using a fine abrasive blasting media anyhow, But if the the metal is that delicate anyhow its best to get it repaired before you waste your money on paint.

Sandblasting the stock paint is a chore. If it does blast through the rust, then it probably needed to be dealt with anyways. My last tank i got as much as I could off with a good paint stripper, and then sandblasted the remaining.

Kleen Strip now comes in an aerosol can for around $6.00 at Home Depot and Walmart. It's a foaming stripper that works well on powder coat also.

Did you ever read the fine print on the aircraft stripper can "do not use on aircraft parts" :)

AND DON"T GET THIS SHIT ON YOUR SKIN BECAUSE OH GOD DOES IT BURN

You think this burns you should see what I use in my daily powder coating stripper tank. I have scars from it being on me for less than 15 seconds.

So can I assume you did something stupid or was yours a workplace mishap and not something that was dumb.

No mine was pretty dumb too. Less so as it was surely less painful

I use heavy rubber gloves when working with the stuff. It eats nitrile gloves and latex gloves pretty quickly.

Ok thats fine then I've got some heavy rubber gloves thanks for the info. Its funny I saw that stuff at the store last weekend and was considering it.

The only thing we can buy here, is something called Nitromors, it really dont do anything, so is there any homepage you can buy it from to the 6 Dollar, ?
Ebay price is 13+ and they dont send to Denmark
