Removing the muffler balance tube on a CB500T?

Just curious if this would effect the engine performance or torque in any way? I have heard some speculation but nothing concrete.

You might have to adjust the jetting but you can do just about anything to the exhaust that you want. that big, ugly and heavy thing was one of the first things to come off my bike it was just 15lbs of rusted metal hiding under the bike.

Yeah drop it like a hot rock. I did on mine....well...swapped to 450 pipes....but it's heavy and the power delivery in my opinion is stronger without...

mine seemed stronger without it too but that's just 'seat of the pants' not a dyno mesurement.
