Replace headlight bucket with something else

I keep breaking the headlight bucket on my old CL350. Blasted thing is plastic and brittle.
I saw this headlight, and kind of liked it. I like it a lot. Not entirely vintage, but what the hey, neither are fancy rearsets. Never meant to keep it all stock, so why not.

I am wondering if the wiring harness would tuck up in there, and how wide the mounts are. It would be awfully slick if it would fit in between the original mounts. But I can come up with something.

Plus the V rod headlight is probably a lot brighter than the old dog on the bike now. Still the original bulb I bet.

Looks really cool, but I'd be afraid that after putting HD parts on my bike it'd develop a penchant for pissing oil in my garage and sounding way faster than it is. ;D

i noticed that light too. it is kinda neat. you cant go wrong with different. well. . . maybe you can, but that is good diff IMO

I'm looking to do this (vrod) or a vtx headlight. I think they look custom/classy yet still sort of old school. Please post any info on this conversion. I'm at least a month away, still cutting, shaving the frame.

I haven't gotten one yet, I asked the school some questions about it, but never heard back.
FWIW, I am bidding on one on Ebay, if anyone runs across it, please don't bid against me. ;D I am really stretching myself on this one. My wife might be a bit err... aghast at buying a headlight for a bike that not only has one, but doesn't run yet.

I am almost 100% that the mounts are wider than the stock units on my CL, so there will be some adaptation to make it work, if I get it.

My stock bucket has holes in it, so nearly anything would be better.

It's ok, someone bid more than me in the last few seconds, literally in the last two.
Sticking with the original busted up unit for now.
