Hey guys basically I want to replace the old ignition setup on my MZ ts150 with something more secure. The old ignition key was just a 5mm bar with a slot cut out, you could turn it with any key or flat head screw driver. To make the bike harder to steal, I want to replace it with a proper ignition barrel. I picked up a simple two point ignition and key from a gsx1100g. Two settings, on and off. The problem is the old ignition had five settings, off/on/on with side light/on with headlight/ battery bypass for kicking the bike if the battery was flat(I think). Anyway because I am moving the battery, relay, fuses, regulator etc to the new rear hump I need to extend the loom. The wiring for the rear lights and indicators will need to be shortened as well. Basically I need to make a new loom which might be difficult as I have zero electrical knowledge. I think with help I can make a basic loom (two stroke bike with no electric start) but how do I tackle the ignition issue?

Basically you just need to find the hot wire (the one with power from the battery), connect it to one of the poles on the new switch and all the other wires go to the other pole.

If you want the "headlight off" mode your old switch had you'll need to wire in a headlight switch somewhere (easiest to do this from the wiring off the headlight bulb - maybe put the switch on top of the headlight bucket?)
