Hey guys looks like im taking the plunge and rewiring my 1977 XS 400D The wiring was a bit messed up when i got the bike and trying to fix it has only meant more trouble. So im going to do a bare bones to go with the look of the bike. I decided to have a game plan before i take off cutting wires i may need later on. I have been having some trouble with some of the parts and how i want to order them. So i was hopping some of yall might be able to help! This wiring diagram may also work for almost any bike so im not only looking for the XS400 guys witch is why i didn't post this on there site.

Parts I will remove.
- Right and left hand controls
-High/low beam
-horn (may add one in later if i cant get the bike past inspection)
-Turn Signals
-All dash indicators

I am building the bike to run in North Carolina so i am making it to the laws here so other states may require more or less hardware for the bike.

Things I will keep
-Head light
-Tail light
- Charging system (AC generator, Reclifier, Regulator)
- Battery
- Key (main switch)
- Coils Condenser
- Speedo and speedo back light

If anyone can think of something i will have to have to make the bike run let me know

Here is what I have been working off of witch I think is flawed

Here is what I have so far

And here is where I am stuck, the diagram I have been using does not make any since. I know how all of these parts work individual but not in accordance to one another.

If anyone can help me figure out how to wire this up it would be a huge help! Or if you think there is a better order to put things in. Or if a have something that needs to have a fuse on it and i don't have one, or something that needs a ground.

No one knows what i need to do? im about to dig into the bike when i get home from school and i still need help!?!?

finely got moved in at home from and got under the bike and ran some wires and spent some time looking at every wiring diagram that i could find and this is what iv come up with.

I haven't gotten this far with it yet but i have complacently removed the left side controls from the bike by hardwireding the headlight and ditching the turn signals all together.
