NEED ADVICE!

I'm moving to LA and am going to be transporting the bike in a moving truck.

The bike no longer has the center stand, so I'm sort of at a loss. I was thinking about using a front wheel chock (assuming the driver will be okay with me bolting it to the floor) and then tying down the backend. Thoughts? Should I be using a rear wheel stand as well?

Also, what rear wheel stand do you guys use in the garage?

Any help is appreciated.

Whatever you transport it in, butt the front wheel against the wall of whatever it's facing, hook tie down coming to the bike in an angle from the front f the bike on each corner of the bed, trailer , etc, loop the tie downs around the fork at the bottom clamp. Then ratchet each tie down little by little, once the front is down, you can do the same from te back at a strong point.

Thanks for the tips man. I've heard that ratcheting down the front end and compressing the forks can result in blown fork seals. is there a big risk of this happening with your method?

I honestly see no problem in doing this. Ive done it with different bikes, new an vintage and never any issue. But if you are worried, you can buy a dirt bike fork lock, it goes in and stops the fork from compressing while still allowing you to tighten it down. Check cycle gear.
Like I said though I think you'll be fine.
Plus "if" it were to hurt a gasket they are super easy to change.

TANK BACK FROM DIPPING

Ugh... just when I was close to making up my damn mind on a paint color, the tank turns out looking this good bare after the dip.

I really like the Audi Nimbus grey, but now I'm leaning towards their Aviator grey - which is a bit lighter.

Chime in! It's close!

Very nice build! How did you build that belly pan? and what is that tank from?

I saw this bike in person Friday. Looks even better up close with the attention to detail that Pete put into it. I'm sure you'll be happy.

Any progress yet? Did you make the move successfully?

I did man. Out in LA now... but without my baby :'(

Still soliciting quotes for getting her shipped out here, hoping to make a decision this weekend.

Pete posted a video of my finished bike! (Just a walk-around, no startup.) Check it out below...
