right carb leaks gas whenever petcock is on

the title pretty much says it all. i have a cb500t that leaks gas out of the right carb float bowl overflow hose whenever the gas is turned on. i've taken it apart sprayed everything down really well with carb cleaner but it hasn't helped at all. it ran fine until a few days ago when i took it for a ride and it was only running on one cylinder, that's when the gas first started leaking.

Check your float level and make sure it is to spec and not sticking and that the float itself still actually floats. If that is OK, then your needle and or seat may be worn and leaking through.

found it. the float has a small hole in it that was letting gas in. i think i'll jb weld it until i can find a replacement float. does anyone know where i could find one??

Just remember it needs to be light weight or it will sink and you'll have the same problem.

Best bet would be a wrecking yard for bikes. Where abouts are you located?
