I just joined. Bought my new baby a couple weeks ago. Still trying to get her running. The bike is currently in Greenville.

Flugtechnik, you aren't too far away from me. I'm in Wilmington, NC and ride a 78 XS650. Just trying to get her turned into pseudo-cafe racer. I don't plan to go with a rear cowl, but already have the clubmans, getting the bar end mirrors, haven't yet mounted the XS roadster seat. I need to get a different exhaust, but that will come in time. I'll try to get a pic or two of it soon.

Yep, my in-laws have a house on Holden Beach where we go all the time. Wilmington is beatiful. I wouldn't mind living there. I don't plan on doing anything crazy or any major restoration. New bars, tank and a seat. Clean it up and maybe get some rear-sets. I kind of like the paint job, but I don't know if I will be able to save the tank. That's why it doesn't run. It's rusty and there is no screen on the petcock. I have a new petcock on order and will try to clean the tank out next week.

keep it on the road all year long I hope to ride all winder as well. I just have to get a good set of gauntlet gloves
 
trust me if that were true, my triumph would be done for . SO.........still no one huh? just cuz of no smoking no one rides in brooklyn? i find that hard to believe.

Didn't they ban smoking there? Most of our cafe bikes would get tickets under that law. :D
