Ruby Helmet

Been Around the Block
Posted a shot of the Ruby helmet I bought in the "latest purchase" thread and it seemed a few people were interested in it. If anyone wants to see more pictures of it or have never heard of it or whatever you can read about it here.

It's really a cool helmet and really well made. Probably the nicest thing I'll buy myself all year.

Classiest helmet I've ever laid eyes on, only two dealers in Canada. Mind if I ask how much you paid? Doesn't look cheap.

I'd have to see one in person to be able to appreciate them I think. On eBay the Pavillon Concorde model seems to sell for between $400-$550. Retail is I think about 2x that price. They'd have to be pretty damn nice for me to think about that kind of money for a lid.

From everything I've read these helmets fit true to size. Mine works as it should. I always thought they were cool, but overpriced for the "more-money-than-brains" crowd. I saw one in person on a trip I took and realized they really are something special. It's the kind of thing I'll wear a few times a year and keep stored for the rest of the time. Hopefully someday my son will stumble upon it and realize he had a cool dad with good taste.

Same reason I like watches actually.

I couldn't afford one, but man, the customization you can order is really nice. I like this so much I want to paint my bike to match.

I've bought at least three running motorcycles, and one new helmet in the past year for less than retail on one of those. That is all.

Sounds about right. There's no doubt that they're stupidly expensive. I think anyone who says otherwise is lying to you and themselves.

It is a sweet helmet. I love the one with the shield.
I'd say its stupidly priced but you all know that, and the watch comment hit home. I work in a 800 dollar watch every day (and thats my work watch). And I don't spend money on things, but for some reason watches get me. Same can go for a helmet I imagine.

I have a full set of street gear- never paid a penny for any of it as it came with bikes I have bought over the years.

Can't wait to score a Ruby . . .

With as many bikes as you buy I'd wager you've got a LOT of gear 8)

$1000 for a helmet. And people buy them. And they don't drive for an Indycar or F1 team. And there's no chin bar to boot. What a great investment!

There's one store in Toronto that sells them, Serpentine. I've taken a look at one, nice lid but the the padding is around 2" thick. Looks ridiculously huge on any head but that's what makes it feel plush and luxurious. Most likely made in China but they don't tell you that. Not into them at all, overstyled and gaudy.
