run a batttery or not

Im about to rewire my bike and hide and clean things up. I was thinking either run a small 12v battery or no battery if you are using one what kind do you recommended, i only use kickstart but have a starter and solenoid.

I run a total loss battery system, and I'd love to learn how people do kinetic systems without a battery.

If the charging system has a permanent magnet stator then you can run a capacitor instead of a battery.

If it has a generator with an exciter coil it needs a battery to work.

Probably easiest either way to just get a small 12v battery and call it done.

Wow this is more in depth than I thought I'm more familiar with car eletrical systems. I do like the capacitor idea. Just would like to run led brake and turn signals maybe head light too
