Running rough and hesitation on acceleration

I went riding today and my bike is running kinda rough.
It's fine when it's idling. When you accelerate it feels like it is hesitating and rough. Instead of Whaaaaa/Whaaaaa/Whaaaa ... it's Whaaa_cough_aaaa/Whaa_cough_aaa_cough__aaa.
Overall, the engine just feels rough. It was so bad today, I turned around mid-ride and headed back.

I immediately removed the plugs and this is what they looked like.

They look pretty black. One of them is blacker than the other.

I am not sure what to do to fix this.

Honda CL350 1972. Stock... no mods.

The one on the right in the top picture looks a little rich. When is the last time the carbs were thoroughly cleaned?

Stock is a great place to start. Much easier to trouble shoot when nothing has been changed.

Check timing and compression before messing with the carbs. It's faster and easier and problems with timing or compression can mask fueling issues.

Have you checked timing and compression?
