S O L D AS OF 9/4/08

1974 Honda CB/CL 450 Cafe racer/speedster.
Bike has under 20,000 miles on the original motor. Starts/runs/stops like a champ. Every nut and bolt has been gone thru on this bike atleast twice. Pictures speak louder than words, so take a look:

That project kinda fell thru the cracks with the move into the city.
I have two possibile new project ideas, one with a modern bike and one with another
CB450 as a base. We shall see which one I do if and when the green CB/CL450 finds a new owner..

I can't believe that this smokin' caff is still available!

The seat is awesome, the tank is in beautiful shape, the wheels and rubber is awesome as well.

I am sorely tempted............a bit far away for me though.

I am kinda surprised the bike is still for sale as well.
It is going on Ebay this weekend, and I am sure someone will pick it up...

This is the NICEST Honda Caff I've EVER seen. And I've seen a few, though admittedly, not all!

Looking at this bike I can't think of single detail that I'd change. Maybe a heat shield for those pipes; maybe. Perhaps an aluminum Morini tank while putting that sweet stock tank on a safe shelf. A bullet fairing wouldn't look too out of place either.

It's unfortunate for you that most on this forum are more, ah, "hands on", wanting to create their own cafe racer, and would much prefer to buy a shagged out CB for a few hundred bucks. BTW, I count myself in that group!

In reality, this is the smart buy, by the time you find a bike in decent condition, strip it down and rebuild it in some predetermined cafe racer image one couldn't possible get what you have here for $3k. And THAT, my friend, is why I am SO tempted............Chicago IS only 9 hours away...............

Thanks for the kind words on the bike Hoser.
Like I have said before, I love the little CB450, But I have my eyes on a bigger (and faster) project down the line.
I am gonna throw the bike on Ebay soon, as I am sure someone will snag it up from their..

and a question, what size and brand tires are those? Looks incredible and they look like they will actually L E A N when turned!

The tires on the CB450 are Avon RoadRiders. The front is the stock size, and the rear is one size wider than stock (to fill up the swingarm).
Trires are great in the rain, have an "agressive" look to them, and are pretty cheap..
