Saigon "Ca Phe" Racer. (Added pics)

Finally, after a couple of years sitting on the carcass of a '74 CB360, my local mechanic finally found time to put this old girl back into the street.

Considering the language barrier, I think he did an outstanding job.

It was born here, in a humble shop in the outskirts of the city.

My mechanic adjusting the timing before he gives me the chance to take her out and stretch her legs.

Finally rolled it out into the street.

And home at last.

Re: Saigon "Ca Phe" Racer.

Thanks, man.

One of the benefits of being in a developing country is the fact that they keep building new roads - you just have to know where the new roads are, and you can have them all to yourself (at least until everyone discovers it). Will certainly find a new one to see how much the new bike can put out. As soon as we iron out a few kinks here and there and we feel comfortable and confident enough to give her a good thrashing.

Re: Saigon "Ca Phe" Racer.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

And, yes, white orbs, "ca phe" - just as the locals say it!

Anyway, just wondering if any of you can give me some tips. I'm currently running 120/80/18 tires front and back (just like the beefy look), but since I cannot seem to source a front tire of those dimensions, I am currently using a rear tire up front.

Can you point me to a brand that produces front tires of those specs?

Any tips on how to cope with using the rear tire up there? Should I really be running it opposite the directional arrow on the tire as some have said?

Thanks!

After a few probs with the clutch, finally got her out and running around 80 kms. (2 trips of 40).

All seems ok until about 4000 rpms when it feels like it hits a flat spot before recovering again.

Some pics on the road.

And an attempt at vintage type effects.

By the way, exhaust was hand made by a local builder. Pretty good, I must say.

Lovely build and the photo's just make me want to jump on a plane and join you out for a few ride outs.
