I picked up my 1999 TW200 last night.
The guy I bought it off built it up a few years ago, then it seems he had a couple kids..
Hence the bike was neglected and is a bit rough around the edges, but it'll do me!

The clutch and brakes? let's say they just need some attention. The engine is ok (26k).

(I took the front guard off.)

Just ordered a EBC DRC Clutch Upgrade Kit - anything is better than what I'm working with now.

The DRC full kit includes heavy-duty aluminum impregnated cork base plates.
10% upgrade clutch springs and steel intermediate driven plates.

I cleaned up the white seat and sprayed it with a can of black Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric paint.

I put some new silver alloy handlebars on, and some new black Pro-grips. Looks $1m better I reckon.

Thats a cool bike. I'm surprised it doesn't have a disc front. (I thought it was stock) What are your plans for the exhaust- Keep it or ditch it? Keep the updates coming.

I'm pretty sure the earlier ones came with a front drum.

Not sure what to do with the exhaust, may keep it for now, it sounds good.
Ugly as sin though, I would prefer something that hugged a bit more.
May just leave that until I do an engine rebuild over winter.
 
Ya, the exhaust looks a little out of place. Sorry, no offense just think it could look alot better. Engine does need rebuilt?

Fair enough, I must say it isn't the prettiest exhaust I've seen.

Could last without a rebuild, but will happen anyway, just a freshen up really..

NO! slippy slip.. it's a cleaning compound that leaves a sheen.. just an initial clean up.. i've worn it off the knobs since, just makes the rest look nice..

(i was waiting for that comment btw haha!)
 
sweet, dude. i love TW's. I grew up in Tokyo and have seen so many of these beefed up folks thumping around. would love to do my next build on one (if i ever finish my first project) but they are so rare here in australia. might have to buy one cheap, in japan, rip it apart and bring it all over in parts.
be great to see a 360 or a 500cc in one of these things. blawblllaaaaawwww

you got anything else planned on her?
 
nothing solid planned, just going to ride and enjoy whats left of summer over here, then get stuck in.. plus got a few other bikes on the go, gotta sort out what we are doing first (and picking up another 4 bikes next week! all old shitty little Honda singles)!
