Seat padding???

Been Around the Block
Ok so I have been working on a fiberglass seat and I'm just about to the point where I need to make the cushin. What are you guys using for your padding? And any suggestions on where to get it? I am also picking up a vintage sewing macine and I'm going to try to do my own cover...we'll see how this turns out seeing as I have no experience with sewing at all!

Closed cell foam is what most people use, either at an upholsterery store or for the good stuff, kayak/boating stores have them because they use it for seats also. You can find it online too.

good quality yoga mats use the right foam. Go for the black thicker ones. Did a seat about 3 years ago and it's still going strong on a daily rider.

i buy the blue camping bed rolls from walmart. They're 1/2 - 3/4 inch thick, and come 24x70 inches. $8

you won't find it cheaper than that.

Use latex contact cement to join the layers, it won't dissolve the foam and it doesn't dissolve braincells either...
