Seat padding

I went to an upholstery shop and bought the same kind of foam the bike had to begin with...I forget what it's called but it's pretty firm and wasn't hard to shape with a belt sander. Light pressure though! Don't want the belt to actually grab it.

I posted more details in another thread here...

i prefer the neoprene because it doesn't dry rot, and i think it's more comfy. both are good choices though. if your bike is kept in a dry garage, there shouldn't be issues with the foam dry rotting

Yeah, the neoprene is the way to go. It would be best not to leave your bike out in the rain anyway. No matter what seat you're riding on. Goog luck!

I'd say the no-brainer for this one would be high-density foam designed for bike seating. I just asked at my local apholstery and they were more than happy to sell me some, plus some vinyl for covering it. Cheap, too.

Cheers - boingk

not necessarily out in the rain, but a lot of garages are just damp
