Seat pan metal thickness

So trying to copy this seat pan for a current build and need some help. What are your thoughts on metal thickness on this build? I am of the mind that it is too thin, I am unsure how they are going to attach it and not sure how long it will last being this thin. I have built a couple with 16 gauge and am leery to make one any thinner. Thanks

If you're happy with your ability to shape the 16-gauge then I don't see why you should change. I know people like Ron Covell like to make seats and tanks out of 16. Especially if you don't trust your welding, it's a lot harder to burn through 16 than it is through 18 or 20.

I use 18 guage for my seats. I wouldn't go any less than that..
