Does it make any difference what it's made from? Once they're painted you can't tell the difference.
Find the style you like regardless of material.......unless you plan to polish it, either will work.
I don't know if you're any good at shaping foam and fiberglass work or not, but if you are, making your own out of foam and fiberglass is the cheaper, and lighter way to go.
Yep any type of closed cell foam works good to carve a plug. You can make a skeletal form out of cardboard and fill it with expanding foam if you want to be precise, but I like to work it by eye. Tape it with packing tape, 3+ layers of glass, fill, seal, prime, paint.
Ok thanks everybody love all the input I will search the tubes for the materials
It's a cl360
I'm going the fiberglass route for several reasons
I think I'll be able to make a nicer one with cleaner lines
And have easier time than shaping metal to be the same
Florists foam comes in blocks, use spray adhesive to glue together however many you need. I used cardboard under the blocks, set them on the frame and start sculpting the shape you want.

I have made a tail from cutting the back half of a tank off, in retrospect, I would have cut the tail and sides as one then simply made the pan to bring it all together. You can cut it again down the center to narrow or widen then just add a backer strip with holes and plug weld, then skip stitch the seam.
