Second Hole in Cb350/360/400 Master Cylinder

PHeller

Coast to Coast
While rebuilding my master cylinder, I attempted to clean out the whole on the right side of the resevoir, only to find that it doesn't go anywhere.

What is this second hole used? Bigger brakes?

Ok, maybe some can answer me this.

Does anyone have a CB350 master cylinder, and if they do, does it have two holes in the reservoir?

the second (smaller) hole will be the fluid return circuit that releases pressure and allows the caliper to retract when the lever is released.

I have a 76 CJ250T with disc front... its master cylinder has the two holes. Only one is actually a hole other one is a blind hole...

Maybe its the same mould as the CB750 master cylinders but doesnt need the same amount of retraction or something???

The small "blind hole",is a real hole ...use a guitar string or welding tip cleaners to work it open ,it is very small but like a couple posts previous it is important

One of those holes doesn't go anywhere...or at least it doesn't appear to.

Its only 0.012"~0.014" diameter, your using wire that too big to go through it.
