Second Opinion: Stacking washers as axle spacers. (photos inside!)

I'm in the process of fitting a cb350 drum brake front wheel onto my cb450 which had a disc setup.

The spacing is off by a .25" and I'm using a couple of washers to make up for the spacing.
Do you guys think this is a safe idea?

I couldn't source a solid spacer, so I ordered washers that are the same diameter as the axle,
and fits the same measurements needed width wise to fill the space, but it's not one solid piece.

The right side has 3 washers altogether and the left side has 2 washers.
Everything seems to line up centered and it all tightens up o.k.,
but I'm curious on how legit this sounds to run.

And if anyone is interested in doing this sort of swap,
here's a pic of the two axles to show you how different they are.
The top set is off the 450, which is longer, has a speedo (which acts like a spacer)
and a smaller spacer on the brake side (left side) then the end nut.
The bottoms set is off the 350, is shorter in length, and only has a spacer
on the non brake side (right side).
The axle diameters are the same.

In my case, I'm using the axle off the 450, since it fits my 450 fork width,
and the single spacer off the 350, then added the washer I mentioned earlier to make up for the extra space.

and a gratuitous photo of the bike.

You'll probably be OK, but personally I would go to a machine shop and have them whip me up a set of custom spacers. Last one I had made, they charged me $5...

or you could make em out of round steel stock and minimum tools...hacksaw and a drill if your good.. ;D
