Seized Tomaselli adjustable club man

The bars are stuck and I want to apply some gentle violence to them, but am unsure how.

I will loosen the bolts, but should I just try to twist the handle ends? Or should I get them out of the middle piece first? (I was thinking about placing an allen key in the bolts and beat on that with a hamme/rubber mallet)
Any thoughts?

I do know the bars are mounted upside down.

The fit at the adjusting point should likely be tapered - at least they are on my Tomaselli adjustable clip-ons.

So, you want to tap the piece with the grip etc. on it 'out' away from the U clamped part.

If you loosen the large allen bolts, you could tap on them to push the other part out, but you don't want to hammer on them too hard or you'll ruin the threads.

Throw some penetrating oil etc. on them. You might even want to take them off the bike and soak them in some rust remover to break things free.

They aren't upside down - they're just rotated a bit far forward. If they were turned down a bit so the U was pointed towards the ground vs. forward, they'd be spot-on. At the end of the day its all about comfortable riding position - which is why they're adjustable.

I agree with Tim on this one. Soak them in penetrating oil (WD40) and a rust remover to get things loosened up. Than take a rubber mallet and GENTLY tap to free.

They are upside down because the Tomeselli logo is facing downwards... The hand position is a little awkard as it is. Looking forward to beeing able to dial it in properly (hopefully). They are some pretty nice bars.
