I'm changing out the front end on my XS650 cafe racer and will have the current drum brake setup for sale shortly. I've made the really expensive jump to the Suzuki 4LS setup so won't need this one anymore.
It is an XS1 front drum, laced with Buchanan stainless spokes/nipples to a Yamaha 18" WM3 shouldered alloy rim (looks exactly like Akront or Borrani).
Also, I had the 35mm fork lowers modified to made with the XS1's brake plate. Had the caliper mounts removed and a tab welded in place for the plate.
Hub also got fresh bearings installed. About 100 miles on the setup.
For the wheel and forks I think $400 would be reasonable. To source these bits and put them together would run $600+ easy I think, between the rim, spokes, hub, bearings, modified forks etc. Brake cable is included as well - also only 100 miles old.
A similar Suzuki 4LS setup would run you closer to $1000, so if that's what you're after, keep your eyes peeled on eBay and at the swap meets.
I need to keep my triple tree and the Avon tire for the new front end.
So to recap - you get:
Front wheel minus the tire
Front forks - not the trees - the forks
Brake cable
Did I mention the bits are really shiny? The brake linkage bits were chromed at Mayfair plating as well but aren't in the pics.
