THIS is gonna be a giant post, im new here, but i had a build thread elsewhere that shows the chronicals of my wild and crazy journey into the wonderful world of vintage bikes

hopfully ill be met with warm welcomes and hateful stares ;D

this is how she came to me

she (from now on named cicilia) ran like crap and looked like it too, but was 100% complete when i got her, but i couldnt have that, i didnt have an appreciation for cb's 4 months ago when i started this, but regardless i knew i wanted something cafe cool looking because im a big rockabilly fan and love 50's look niche stuff, cuffed jeans, leather jackets and the likes hahaha

anyways...

im gonna skip a lot of the cut and dry boring "i put this piece here and i put this piece there" and show yall some kinda (never) finished pictures, nothing is ever ever finished, no matter what anyone says, youre gonna keep on messing with stuff and itll constantly grow and change and live with you

more to come...

anyways, so within a month i had her up and running, and she now had a brand new look, much thanks to dime city cycles i found most of my parts there, the current list of mods is as follows,

motion pro cables everywhere,
with the exception of a factory honda NOS clutch cable, because everything else was just crap and i couldnt get it to work right,
DCC 11" shorty rear shocks,
lowered 1" up front on the forks
DCC slim cafe seat
flat green green
new gaskets all around the easy stuff
stainless allen bolt kit
DCC 2.5" mini gauges (new) totally love these
MAC 4-1 exhaust
80 mains
rebuilt carbs
a bunch more new replacement stuff,
repurposed rethreaded front brake switch i found on ebay.uk
DCC fancy headlight ears
bullet turn signals with short stocks
fancy old school license plate bracket with lamp
DCC black drag bars

and a whole whole lot of other stuff fixed and taped, theres no way I can remember all the stuff I did to it in a months time, all I know is that as soon as I had this thing all my cash was just burning a hole right through my pocket and falling over the place, I kept an excel spreadsheet of the stuff ive purchased over the past few months on my other computer, and I think the last time I checked my total investment was around $2600, not too shabby I suppose, it’s a lot, but from the world of cars I come from this is enough for maybe just a motorset or a nice turbo, or once upon a time when I bought a brand new Gibson guitar it was about half the price of the bike, anywho, along with the pictures

took off the center stand because without the exhaust it was ridiculous, I think this cleaned it up nice,

then of coarse since I had to HAD TO have a side exit exhaust, that meant a full carb rebuild was in order, got all the gasket kits and jets off ebay, and had them by the weekend so I could tear it down and put it back together, only problem was that I come from the wacky world of EFI and I had no idea what was in store for me,

well it turned out to be super easy, everything went back together smooth after I soaked the carbs in a mix of pinesol and water, and the first time I started it it started first try…too bad it didn’t idle…

when I did the carbs I adjusted the main needles to 2 slots from the bottom, that was way too much gas I guess, so I moved them back to the middle like they were. That was better, but it still wouldn’t idle, I bench sync’d them and threw it back on, adjusted the air screws to about 1.75-2 turns out and it was a lot better, its ridable now, but still total crap, flutters and sputters, and wont idle, fouls plugs, did my plug chop and theyre super black, so tomorrow im taking it to a shop to have the carbs really really sync’d and my valve adjustment done, because when I re-gasketed the top end it lost all its adjustment, and I don’t think I did it very efficiently so I think that has something to do with my running issues a bit as well, but that’s about it for now, what do yall think? Comments, suggestions, and hate mail are all welcome! ;D

im sure there will be more, there always always is
